Not every idea starts as a product. MANU's research work is kept separate from what ships — a place to test practical machine learning against real workflows without being tied to a single deliverable. Some of it spins out into its own project later. Some of it doesn't. That's the point.
§ 01How this differs
A product has a customer. Research has a question.
RealActivity Imaging, PharmaFlow AI, and SkinAnalytica are built toward a specific user and a specific outcome. Research work here starts earlier than that — before it's clear whether the answer is a feature, a standalone project, or a dead end.
No fixed roadmap
Research ideas can spin out into their own project, fold into an existing one, or get dropped — there's no commitment to ship a fixed thing on a fixed date.
Real data, real rigor
Run against live literature, databases, or datasets rather than toy examples, with the same engineering discipline as a shipped product.
Stated plainly
What's built and real is separated from what's still exploratory, rather than presented with a product's confidence.
